Department Description
The Department of Accounting and Information Systems offers majors in Accounting and Management Information Systems. Students majoring in either of these majors find employment in a broad range of industries, as well as government and not-for-profit organizations.
Department Accreditation
The Accounting and Information Systems Department is accredited through the College of Business by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, which places it in the top 5 percent of business schools worldwide.
Practicum (Internship) Requirement
Accounting and Management Information Systems majors are required to complete a three-credit practicum (internship) experience while enrolled in the professional program. This requirement prepares the student for the accounting or management information systems world through practical experience in their primary area of study. Students must consult with their faculty advisor and obtain approval prior to enrolling in the practicum.
