Department of Transportation, Logistics and Finance

The Department of Transportation, Logistics, and Finance is accredited by the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.  The department offers a major in Finance.  This students studying Finance often search employment as financial analysts or in corporations as financial officers.  The department also offers a minor in banking which can be paired with any other major in the College of Business.  These students usually seek employment in the banking industry.  The department offers master’s degrees in Supply Chain Management and Transportation and Urban Systems.  These masters are designed for working professionals in the transportation industry and supply chain professions.  Finally, the department offers a Ph.D. in Transportation and Logistics.  Students who pursue a Ph.D. usually seek employment as a faculty member at other universities. All of the masters and doctoral program are Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) designated.

Practicum/Internships

Students majoring in Finance or minoring in Banking are encouraged to complete a practicum experience while enrolled in the professional program. The practicum prepares students for challenges of the business world through practical experience in their primary area of study. Students must consult with their faculty advisor and obtain approval prior to enrolling in the practicum. Credits will be applied as free electives in the major and do not satisfy any of the professional requirements listed on the curriculum guide.
