This course will cover basic techniques and methods for characterization of materials, x-ray diffraction and electron microscopy will be discussed in detail. Also covered will be spectroscopies, NMR, FTIR and RAMAN.

The program includes a series of required MNT core courses; additional elective courses; written and oral preliminary examinations; a doctoral dissertation based on independent, original research in materials and nanotechnology; and a final oral examination on the dissertation .
