- Minimum of 120 semester credits (some programs may exceed this minimum).
- Complete the University General Education requirements.
- Minimum institutional GPA of 2.00 based on work taken at NDSU.
- Minimum of 30 credits in resident at NDSU.
- Minimum of 36 upper level credits (courses numbered 300 or higher).
- Students with transfer credit must meet the NDSU 30 credits in residence (#4). Of these 30 credits in residence, a minimum of 15 credits must be in courses numbered 300 or above, and 15 credits must be in the student's declared major curricula.

Degree Requirements and Notes
- An NDSU cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher must be maintained and the student must earn a grade of C or better in the SPMT major requirement courses (other than SPMT 190) to remain in the sport management program.
- Course taken Pass/Fail will not be used to satisfy any requirements other than total credits (other than SPMT 192).
- Students who have specific career goals in mind may elect to complete additional minor(s) by choosing focused electives. Examples of other minors that compliment Sport Management include: Accounting, Community Development, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Human Development and Family Science, Journalism, Public Relations & Advertising, and Management Communication.
In order to enroll in 300-400 level sport management courses (with the exception of HNES 303), students must:
- Complete at least 50 credits with a GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Obtain a B or higher in SPMT 190 as indicated in the footnote.
- Complete one credit in SPMT 192.
- Earn a 2.5 GPA within ACCT 102 and ECON 105 without receiving a grade of D in either course.
- Maintain active participation in Sport Management Association.
