About the Catalog

Catalog Overview

The University Catalog serves as the official source for program curricula, course descriptions, and academic policies and procedures governing course registration and degree completion. This catalog supplements the NDSU website and materials from the Office of Admission, Global Programs and Services, and the Graduate School, and the academic units. It is available online, with options to download individuals pages or the complete catalog as a PDF.

Undergraduate and professional pharmacy students should reference the admission and undergraduate sections, while graduate students can consult the graduate section for all information, including admission. The catalog also links directly to the official websites of the colleges, departments, and student resources for the most current details. The academic polices and information are effective for the published academic year. An archive of past catalogs is linked to the currently published edition.

Undergraduate curricula are effective within the publication year of declaring a program and students are subject to the baccalaureate degree and graduation requirements from that same year. Undergraduate academic and curriculum questions may be referred to the Office of Registration and Records. Graduate students should refer to the Graduate section of this publication. Graduate program and policy questions can be directed to the Graduate School.

Students should familiarize themselves with relevant information, including registration, academic progress, and degree requirements, and are encouraged to consult often with their advisors. All students should be aware of the NDSU Policy 335: Academic Integrity in Instructional Contexts and the NDSU Policy 601: Rights and Responsibilities of Community: A Code of Student Conduct

Information about the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), as amended, is available online or in the Office of Registration and Records.

Reservation of Rights - Subject to Change Statement

While every effort is made to ensure accuracy, the university reserves the right to modify its rules and regulations at any time, including those concerning admission, instruction, and graduation. This right extends to withdrawing curricula and specific courses, changing or discontinuing programs, altering course content, revising the academic calendar, and imposing or increasing tuition and fees. Program requirements and course prerequisites may be effective even if not explicitly stated in this catalog. All changes become effective when determined by university authorities and may apply to both prospective and currently enrolled students.
