Commencement

Commencement ceremonies for students earning bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degrees are held at the end of the fall and spring semesters.

Students who complete their graduation requirements during the summer can participate in the May commencement ceremony of that same calendar year. To be eligible, students must be registered for their remaining summer graduation requirements.

A student can only participate in commencement once for each degree earned. The official date of degree conferral will appear on the academic transcript and diploma, aligning with the university's academic calendar.

To participate in the commencement ceremony, students must reserve their spot by the date specified by the Office of Registration and Records. Orders for caps, gowns, and hoods must be placed by the deadline set by the NDSU Bookstore. For more information about commencement, please visit the commencement website.
