Admission and Application Requirements

- In addition, this program requires the following for the Teacher Licensure option:
- Applicants need to hold a bachelor's degree in a FCS-related area and pass the Praxis Core Academic Skills exam, meeting ND cut scores in reading, writing and math. See http://www.ets.org/ for additional information and to register for the exam.
- They will also need to compose a 400-500 word original essay that answers the following questions: What are your reasons for applying to the Teacher Licensure program? How do your 20 hours working with youth supports your decision to apply to the Teacher Licensure program?
- The applicant must have at least a 3.0 undergraduate GPA'
- This program requires the following for the Licensed Teachers option:
- Applicants must submit of a statement of career goals consistent with the five propositions of the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), http://www.nbpts.org/ as well as reasons for applying to the program.
- The applicant must have at least a 3.0 undergraduate GPA.
- The School of Education reserves the right to obtain additional information about the student's professional competence from qualified professionals.
