ACCT 740. Analytics in Management Accounting. 3 Credits.
This course builds in-depth knowledge of the management accountant's role in supporting planning, control, and decision-making in the current environment when data-driven decision-making becomes the norm. This course helps students translate accounting and business problems into actionable proposals and present them effectively to managers and data scientists by (1) developing analytical and critical-thinking skills to analyze relevant information and (2) gaining an understanding of data-analytics thinking and terminology, as well as hands-on experience with practical, applied technology.
Prereq: Admission to the Master of Accountancy program, or permission of the program director.
