ANSC 427. Advanced Nutrition I. 3 Credits.
The course is designed to focus on advanced aspects of nutrition to include but not limited to: digestive physiology, ruminal function, digesta kinetics, nutrient classes, digestion, absorption, gastrointestinal hormones, introductory aspects of metabolism, nutrient supply and demand, and functions of nutrients in terms growth, development, and health. BIOC 260 is recommended but not required.
Prereq: ANSC 223 and ANSC 324.
