ANSC 627. Advanced Nutrition I. 3 Credits.

The course is designed to focus on advanced aspects of nutrition to include but not limited to: digestive physiology, rumen function, digesta kinetics, nutrient classes, digestion, absorption, gastrointestinal hormones, introductory aspects of metabolism, nutrient supply and demand, and functions of nutrients in terms growth, development, and health. Individuals taking the course will have a term paper writing project. It is recommended that students have BIOC 260 before taking this class. Dual-listing: ANSC 427.
