This course introduces the foundations of programming for data science. It covers basics of programming in python and python tools for data acquisition, wrangling, analysis, and visualization. This course is for non-CS major students.

MIS 720. Data Visualization. 2 Credits.

This course provides advanced usage of data analytics, database, and development of digital dashboards through data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Emphasis is on the application of theoretical understanding of the human interaction with the user interface and the development of digital dashboards, such as charts, graphs, and animations, to facilitate communication and story-telling using data. Effectively communicating analysis results to a management and business audience using dashboards to enhance decision-making is examined. Prereq or coreq: Open to MSBA students or with permission of instructor.
